My Approach to Counselling

My approach to counselling is shaped by my Christian worldview, more that 15 years experience as a Psychologist and specific theoretical models in Trauma therapy and dissociative disorder. As Christopher (1996) pointed out Counselling is a discipline that cannot be separated from its moral and philosophical roots and it is therefore important to be aware of your own and the potential counsellors values as it influences the counseling process. Though I have no expectation that you share my beliefs, you have a right to know them. Christian psychotherpy stives to integrate both the “general revelations” found in scientific explorations and the more “specific revelations” found in the “Rhema Word of God” through a “triadic form of counselling that implicitly and explicitly honors Jesus Christ and beleives the Holy Spirit is always present in the counselling relationship with the counselor and the client”
